Some things are never meant to be forgotten.
There are rifts between Cyanide Heights, and to other worlds that are yet to be discovered. These rifts have their own respective dimensional gates, situated at any point in the world. These rifts lead to new dimensions no other soul has ever been to before.
These rifts are separated from the world by "boundaries". These are distorted walkways between Cyanide Heights and the rifts. They are yet to be restored, however due to its current state, it is impossible to be recovered in time.
One notable boundary is the Fenrir Boundary, a boundary between the world and a new dimension, home of the night wolves. A few excerpts from the Infinite Library have noted the strength of these boundaries to be very strong and inseparable, and they expected more things to come in the near future.
Other boundaries, like the Fabizo Boundary, are known to have crumbled in time. The boundary was supposed to link to a world of explorations and bounties alike, however the last logs of it said that relations didn't last very long, which caused the rift to close and the gate to shatter.
Only the Regent had such power to traverse the unknown, in search of new potential rifts to create a very strong universe, willed by the Deity to be protected from all forms of harm and decay that are yet to stand in its way. Only time can tell if there will be more rifts that are yet to be seen.
